We offer a range of swimming lessons based on Swim England’s Learn to Swim Programme. Classes available include adult and child, pre-school, stages 1-10, rookie lifeguard, challenge awards, water polo, Junior swimfit and adult swimming lessons, including ladies only lessons.We are also pleased to offer small group SEN classes, and older beginner and improver classes for older juniors looking to develop their swimming.
Our dedicated instructors provide high-quality instruction, ensuring that every individual receives the attention and support they need to progress in their swimming journey. Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive and effective learn to swim programme offering continual assessment in a friendly and fun environment.

About Us
We believe that swimming is an essential life skill that everyone should have the opportunity to learn. That’s why we offer such a wide range of lessons to individuals of all ages and abilities. Our friendly, and trusted instructors are dedicated to delivering fun and engaging lessons that ensures learning is enjoyable for everyone.
Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced swimmer, our teachers are dedicated to helping you develop your technique and achieve your swimming goals. All of our teachers are also safeguarding and DBS checked.

Class description and awards

adult & Baby
Aimed at babies up until the point where they are walking independently. Develops water confidence through play, songs and rhymes. Requires a parent/guardian in the water. Babies are required to wear a swim nappy and appropriate swim wear.
Awards Discovery Ducklings 1 & 2

adult & Child
Aimed at young children who require their parent/guardian to be in the water. Children that are not potty trained are required to wear a swim nappy and appropriate swim wear.

Pre school 1
Aimed at children 3 – 4 years. This class is ideal for young children starting swimming lessons for the first time. Children are supported by a teacher in the water and floatation aids (arm bands). Small class sizes enable children to develop swimming skills such as floating and travelling on their front and back, submerging and jumping in. Adults are encouraged to watch from the viewing area but may stay close by for the first few weeks if necessary (subject to management discretion.)

Pre school 2
Aimed at children who have either passed stage 1 or can submerge confidently, float on their front and back and can paddle/kick short distance without the use of floatation aids. Children are supported by a teacher in the water.

Swim Leicester follows the Swim England Learn to Swim programme, which provides a structured and comprehensive approach to learning how to swim. Our courses to cater to swimmers of all ages and abilities. So no matter age or ability we have just the class for you!

Our aim is to support schools in delivering effective swimming lessons that meet the core curriculum requirements or swimming 25 metres, being familiar in at least 3 swimming strokes and being able to self-rescue.
